Elegant and welcoming

Rowallan is the ideal venue for couples who see their wedding day in the romance of a Scottish castle

Rowallan Castle in Ayrshire, Scotland, is one of those rare venues that feels both sophisticated and homely. The atmosphere is warm, the history is rich, and the castle itself is spectacular. If you’re dreaming of a wedding in a real castle, with exclusive use, Rowallan offers exactly that – the whole place is yours. Set in around 600 acres of Ayrshire countryside we can explore woodland, golf course, walled gardens and choose from either the 12th or 19th century castle. Some of my favourite weddings have happened here, and every time I step onto the grounds it feels special.

Some things my couples have loved the most:

  • Exclusive use of the castle for you and your guests.
  • Ceremony options including within the castle, or outdoors.
  • Incredible food.
  • A wonderful, detail orientated team who make everything run smoothly.
  • Beautiful guest rooms within the castle and grounds.
  • Elegant ballroom for dinners and dancing.

THE DETAILS – that make it special

IT’S ALL IN THE CASTLE

Many historic venues rely on marquees to make modern day wedding guest-lists work, at Rowallan you can seat up to 100 guests in the castle ballroom. And that’s just one of the castles.

The main wedding celebrations happen in Rowallan’s 19th century castle, but before you get there on the tree lined drive, you’ll see the original 12th century castle, also available to couples for accommodation for their guests.

SOMETHING FOR ALL SEASONS

It’s no secret that we can’t rely on good weather in Scotland, so it’s important to consider how your venue will work for you if the sun doesn’t shine all day.

With lots of rooms available for your guests to enjoy – including the library, ballroom and the ceremony room, at no point will your guests feel herded around. You can see from Susan and Stephen’s blog we got some beautiful images even during the biggest storm of the year!

THE SIGNATURE COCKTAIL

One detail which is always a show stopper is the signature cocktail offering. To tempt them out of the ballroom after dinner (to allow it to be turned around for dancing), your guests will find bartenders in the library, mixing a cocktail of your choice.

02. The Film

Shanice and Mark got married at Rowallan Castle in late August – the perfect time to take advantage of the beautiful red ivy which grows up one side of the castle.
