DUNGLASS
Elegant, romantic photography for weddings at Dunglass Estate
Few wedding venues in Scotland offer the variety that Dunglass Estate does. Within the grounds you’ll find mature woodland, beautifully kept gardens, open lawns and glimpses of the nearby coastline, all connected by peaceful pathways that make exploring the estate part of the experience.
The estate feels wonderfully secluded, yet it’s surprisingly accessible from Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. Whether you’re planning a summer garden wedding or an atmospheric autumn celebration, the surroundings provide a beautiful backdrop throughout the year.
The centrepiece of Dunglass Estate is undoubtedly the breathtaking Gothic church ruins. It’s one of Scotland’s most memorable wedding ceremony spaces, offering a sense of history and drama while remaining completely unique.
The purpose-built pavilion provides a striking contrast, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds and a bright, contemporary space for dining and dancing. Together, the two buildings give couples the best of both worlds: historic character and modern comfort.

Why Dunglass works so well for photography
One of the things that makes Dunglass so special is how relaxed the day feels despite the grandeur of the venue. Guests have plenty of space to explore, children can enjoy the gardens, and there’s never a sense of being confined to one room or one part of the estate.
Couples also love that the venue naturally encourages a weekend celebration rather than simply a single day. With accommodation on site and exclusive use throughout, friends and family can spend more time together, making the whole experience feel more personal and memorable.
For photography, it’s a venue that offers incredible variety without needing to leave the estate. From quiet woodland paths to dramatic stone architecture and elegant gardens, every part of Dunglass adds something different to the story of the day.
MORE FROM DUNGLASS

Photography that feels like your wedding.
Many couples tell me they love photography but worry about feeling awkward in front of a camera.
The good news is that you don’t need to perform for photographs.
My role is to guide when needed, particularly during portraits, but never at the expense of the atmosphere you’ve worked so hard to create. The result still feels joyful, but it’s subtly choreographed to be fun for you and photograph beautifully, without feeling over-managed.
The majority of the day is spent observing rather than directing, allowing your wedding to feel like a wedding first and a photoshoot second.
I’m based in Ayrshire and photograph weddings throughout Scotland in a considered documentary style, with a focus on natural moments, beautiful light and thoughtful storytelling.
If you’re planning your wedding at Rowallan Castle and would like photography that feels romantic, refined and true to the day itself, I’d love to hear more about your plans.
